Conjunction work
This conjunction work with Gonda van der Zwaag was made in 2022 for the 25th anniversary of Stichting Beeldenpark Drechtoevers. The exposition Vooruitzien (17/9/’22 – 23/10/’22) contained 25 artists to collaborate on artworks.
Thuistuin opens a world of intimacy. This isolated family merges into their own universe of grass, water and sand. Within the borders of this garden, it might seem save, outside the threat of danger lurks around. They are cultivated, remaining the cornerstone of society as it is. The looks of it might suggest idyllic life, but it might be the unlivable that we seek.
Gonda van der Zwaag and Poeka Boland created this work in the attic between skulls and skeletons. Two women of different generations found comme ground and contradictions in method and esthetics. The found their thread in passion, seen in this installation Thuistuin.
