After working with obedience and street objects, I focussed on a new topic that arose from the desire to escape the unpredictable world. I created a so-called Destination, that formed a base to built on. This Destination I like to describe as ‘A dream, a memory or a wish’, a place so pure and perfect, it almost hurts to fantasize about it. Within a world with infinite paths and choices, the overwhelming amount of expectations to live up to, the social pressure to perform, this imaginary destination creates strength and hope in desperate times. I created a website that could function as a hiding place, combining different elements that function as a suggestion of a ‘paradise’. Through placing them within the context of a two-dimensional platform, the construction is presented as the obvious faulty thing it is. It is just a desire: a non-functional, non-active thing.
